2、EEN AKNOWN GOOD EARTH GROUND (WATER PIPE, CONDUIT, ETC.) AND THE EXPOSEDMETALLIC PARTS, ONE ATATIME. MEASURE THE A.C. VOLTAGE ACROSS THE COMBI-NATION OF 1500 OHM RESISTOR AND .15 MFD CAPACITOR. REVERSE THE A.C. PLUGAND REPEATA.C. VOLTAGE MEASUREMENTS FOR EACH EXPOSED METALLIC PART.VOLTAGE MEASURED M
3、UST NOT EXCEED 75 VOLTS R.M.S. THIS CORRESPONDS TO0.5 MILLIAMP A.C ANY VALUE EXCEEDING THIS LIMIT CONSTITUTES A POTENTIALSHOCK HAZARD AND MUSTBE CORRECTED IMMEDIATELY.SUBJECT: GRAPHIC SYMBOLSTHE LIGHTNING FLASH WITH APROWHEAD SYMBOL. OPERATION AT HIGHER VOLT-AGES MAYCAUSE AFAILURE OF THE PICTURE TUBE OR HIGH VOLTAGE SUPPLYAND,UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES, MAYPRODUCE RADIATION IN EXCESS OF DESIR-ABLE LEVELS.2.ONLY FACTORY SPECIFIED C.R.T. ANODE CONNECTORS MUST BE USED. DEGAUSS-ING SHIELDS AL
7、SO SERVE AS X-RAY SHIELD IN COLOR SETS, ALWAYS RE-INSTALLTHEM.3.ITIS ESSNTIALTHATSERVICE PERSONNELHAVE AVAILABLE AN ACCURATE AND RELI-ABLE HIGH VOLTAGE METER. THE CALIBRATION OF THE METER SHOULD BECHECKED PERIODICALLY AGAINST A REFERENCE STANDARD, SUCH AS THE ONEAVAILABLE ATYOUR DISTRIBUTOR.4.WHEN T

EVERYTIME ACOLOR CHASSIS IS SERVICED.THE BRIGHTNESS SHOULD BE RUN UP AND DOWN WHILE MONITORING THE HIGHVOLTAGE WITH AMETER TO BE CERTAIN THATTHE HIGH VOLTAGE DOES NOTEXCEEDTHE SPECIFIED VALUE AND THATIT
9、IS REGULATING CORRECTLY, WE SUGGESTTHATYOU AND YOUR SERVICE ORGANIZATION REVIEW TESTPROCEDURES SO THATVOLT-AGE REGULATION IS ALWAYS CHECKED AS A STANDARD SERVICING PROCEDURE.AND THAT THE HIGH VOLTAGE READING BE RECORDER ON EACH CUSTOMERSINVOICE.5.WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAKING TESTMEASUREMENTS IN A
10、PRODUCTWITHAPROBLEM OF EXCESSIVE HIGH VOLTAGE, AVOID BEING UNNECESSARILYCLOSE TOTHE PICTURE TUBE AND THE HIGH VOLTAGE SUPPLY. 11、CHEMATIC AND DIAGRAMS (WHERE USED).SUBJECT: IMPLOSION1.ALLDIRECTVIEWED PICTURE TUBES ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN INTE GRALIMPLOSIONPROTECTION SYSTEM, BUT CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AVOID DAMAGE DURINGINSTALLATION, AVOID SCRATCHING THE TUBE. IF SCRATCHED REPLACE IT.2.USE ONLYRECOMMENDED FACTORYREPLACEMENTTUBES
12、.SUBJECT: TIPS ON PROPER INSTALLATION1.NEVER INSTALLANY PRODUCT IN ACLOSED-IN RECESS, CUBBYHOLE OR CLOSELYFITTING SHELF SPACE. OVER OR CLOSE TO HEATDUCT, OR IN THE PATH OF HEATEDAIR FLOW.2.AVOID CONDITIONS OF HIGH HUMIDITY SUCH AS: OUTDOOR PATIO INSTALLATIONSWHERE DEW IS AFACTOR, NEAR STEAM RADIATOR

14、TORY APPROVED MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS A PRODUCTMOUNTED TO A SHELF OR PLATFORM MUST RETAIN ITS ORIGINAL FEET (OR THEEQUIVALENT THICKNESS IN SPACERS) TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE AIR FLOW ACROSSTHE BOTTOM, BOLTS OR SCREWS USED FOR FASTENERS MUST NOT TOUCH ANYPARTS OR WIRING. PERFORM LEAKAGE TESTON CUSTOMIZED INS

19、Precautions1.Always unplug the VCR+DVD Combo AC power cord fromthe AC power source before:(1) Removing or reinstalling any component, circuit board,module, or any other assembly.(2) Disconnecting or reconnecting any internal electricalplug or other electrical connection.(3) Connecting a test substit
20、ute in parallel with an elec-trolytic capacitor.Caution : Awrong part substitution or incorrect polari-ty installation of electrolytic capacitors may result in anexplosion hazard.2.Do not spray chemicals on or near this VCR+DVD Comboor any of its assemblies.3.Unless specified otherwise in this servi
21、ce data, clean elec-trical contacts by applying an appropriate contact cleaningsolution to the contacts with a pipe cleaner, cotton-tippedswab, or comparable soft applicator. Unless specified otherwise in this service data, lubricationof contacts is not required.4.Do not defeat any plug/socket B+ vo
22、ltage interlocks withwhich instruments covered by this service manual mightbe equipped.5.Do not apply AC power to this VCR+DVD Combo and / orany of its electrical assemblies unless all solid state deviceheat sinks are correctly installed.6.Always connect the test instrument ground lead to anappropri
23、ate ground before connecting the test instrumentpositive lead. Always remove the test instrument groundlead last.Insulation Checking ProcedureDisconnect the attachment plug from the AC outlet and turnthe power on. Connect an insulation resistance meter (500V)to the blades of the attachment plug. The
24、 insulation resist-ance between each blade of the attachment plug and acces-sible conductive parts (Note 1) should be more than 1Mohm.Note 1: Accessible Conductive Parts include Metal panels,Input terminals, Earphone jacks,etc.Electrostatically Sensitive (ES) DevicesSome semiconductor (solid state)
