Change the TK-2140 to PC mode, then attach the interfacecable.5-3. KPG-36 description(PC programming interfac
30、e cable: Option)The KPG-36 is required to interface the TK-2140 to thecomputer. It has a circuit in its D-subconnector (25-pin) casethat converts the RS-232C logic level to the TTL level. The KPG-36 connects the universal connector of the TK-2140 to the computers RS-232C serial port.5-4. Programming
31、software descriptionThe KPG-74D programming disk is supplied in 3-1/2” diskformat. The software on this disk allows a user to program TK-2140 radios via programming interface cable (KPG-36).5-5. Programming with IBM PCIf data is transferred to the transceiver from an IBM PC withthe KPG-74D, the dest
32、ination data (basic radio information)for each set can be modified. Normally, it is not necessary tomodify the destination data because their values aredetermined automatically when the frequency range (frequencytype) is set.The values should be modified only if necessary. Data canbe programmed into

Turn the TK-2140 power ON with the S switch held down. When “PROG 57600“ appears, release your finger fromthe switch.5. Check the connection between the TK-2140 and thepersonal computer, and
36、 make sure that the TK-2140 Is inthe Program mode.6. Press write button in the window. A window opens on thedisplay to indicate progress of writing. When the TK-2140starts to receive data. the P icon is blinking.7. If writing ends successfully, the LED on the TK-2140 lightsand the checksum is displa

If you want to continue programming other TK-2140 s,repeat steps 4 to 7.Notes:lThis mode cannot be entered if the Firmware Programmingmode is set to Disable in the Programming software (KPG-74D).lWhen programming the firmware, it is recommend to copythe data from the floppy disk to your hard
38、disk before updatethe radio firmware.Directry copying from the floppy disk to the radio may notwork because the access speed is too slow.6-4. Function1. If you press the Side 2 switch while “PROG 57600“ isdisplayed, the checksum is displayed. If you press the Side2 switch again while the checksum is
39、 displayed, “PROG57600“ is redisplayed.2. If you press the Side 1 switch while “PROG 57600“ isdisplayed, the display changes to “PROG 19200“ to indicatethat the write speed is low speed (19200 bps). If you pressthe Side 1 switch again while “PROG 19200“ is displayed, the display changes to “PROG 3840
40、0“, and the write speedbecomes the middle-speed mode (38400 bps). If you pressthe Side 1 switch again while “PROG 38400“ is displayed, the display returns to “PROG 57600“.Note:Normally, write in the high-speed mode.TK-21406Fig. 2 Receiver sectionIC200 MIX, DET, IFSWQ204DMIC300 (2/2)AF AMP5DE-EMPMUTEE

Incoming signals from the antenna are mixedwith the local signal from the PLL to produce the first IF of44.85MHz.This is then mixed with the 44.395MHz second localoscillator output to produce the 455kHz second IF. This isde

RF unitAn incoming RF signal from the antenna terminal is passedthrough the antenna switch (D102,103,104 and D105 are off)and then the bandpass filter (L215,217). The bandpass filter isadjusted by a variable capacitor. The input voltage to thevariable capacitor is regulated by the voltage output from theD/A converter (IC307). The signal is amplified by RF amplifier(Q207), and passed through the bandpass filter (L210,213).The resulting signal is applied to the first mixer (Q206), whereit is mixe
