6、 DC servo-motors and AC motors have beenconventionally used for cassette decks; they have variousadvantages and d isadvantages.Hitachi has conducted research into direct drive motorswith the advantages of both types of motor and succeededin developing a flat, brushless DC servo direct drive motor.Th
7、is motor is called a uni-torque motor because its torqueis constant; vibration is minimized and rotation issmooth.A uni-torque motor, as developed for direct drive recordplayers, has been adapted for use in cassette decks. lnaddtion, single-chip lC. which contains the speed detectorcircuit, speed co

13、cise signal with a constantoutput even if there is any unevenness or instabiliyin the magnet.The conductors are arranged as a highly precise prlnt-ed pattern.(2) Amplification, wave-shaping of the speed detectionsignalThe speed detection signal has low level and an AMcomponent remains in it, so erro
14、rs will occur if it isused as it is. Accordingly, it is over-saturated andamplified by an amplifier with high gain and a shapingcircuit forms it into a square wave signal. 15、ulse generator, f-V converterThe voltage of the capacitor is inversely proportionalto the speed because it is repeatedly charged and dis-charged at he speed deteclion frequency.The pulse generator generates a trigger signal synchro-nized with the speed detection signal.This trigger signal operates t
16、he capacitor charging/discharging circuit and he voltage of the capacitoris converted to a DC voltage by a low-pass f ilter.Reference voltage, comparison amplificationThe DC voltage generated by the f-V converter and thereference voltage are compared and a difference volt-age is output. Since the re

20、que motor is driven by alternatingcurrent, a Hall element is used for switching.The output voltage Vx of the Hall elements is pro-portional to the current lH applied to the Hall ele-ments and the strength B of the magnetic field.Alternating current is generated under the magnet,so the Hall element i
21、s placed here to obtain the ACoutput. The output is amplified, speed control is pro.vided by the lC and the signal is applied to the drivecoil. Operation errors caused by heat are preventedby the thermal shut-down circuit.(6)Since the wow & flutter of this unit is as low as 0.03%WBMS, it may rise to
22、 more than this value if parts areinstalled incorrectly. Especially, since the drive coil of theDD motor is incorporated in the yoke plate, wow & flutteris affected by the gap and positioning of he magnet anddrive coil. To remove the yoke plate, mark lines (a) and (b)on the yoke plate and chassis be
23、fore loosening the yokeplate f ixing screws.When re-assembling, adjust so that the yoke plate matchesthe previously marked lines (a) and (b). Be careful not todamage the bearing; prevent dust from entering the unit.Pay attention to the following:1) When the oil guard washer touches the bearing, wow
24、&flutter increases; set it with gap of approx. 1mm.2l Check the thrust gap of the flywheel.3) Clean the pressure roller, capstan and head, etc. so thatno oil or dust adheres to them.4l Since the semi-variable resistor on the PC Boardinstalled to the yoke plate is for speed control, do nottouch it.Lu
