4、For details on how to view error codes for the customer, refer to thefollowing box in the instruction manual. For details on how to check error codes during servicing, refer to the following “Procedure forusing the Self-Diagnosis Function (Error History Display Mode)”.PROCEDURE FOR USING THE SELF-DI
5、AGNOSIS FUNCTION (ERROR HISTORY DISPLAY MODE)Note: Perform the self-diagnosis function in the “error history display mode” in the test mode. The following describes the least required procedure. Becareful not to enter other modes by mistake. If you set other modes accidentally, press the MENU/NO but
6、ton to exit the mode.1.While pressing the AMS knob and p button, connect the power plug to the outlet, and release the AMS knoband p button.2.Turn the AMS knob and when “Service” is displayed, press the YES button.3.Turn the AMS knob to display “ERR DP MODE”.4.Press the YES button to sets the error
7、history mode and displays “total rec”.5.Select the contents to be displayed or executed using the AMS knob.6.Press the AMS knob to display or execute the contents selected.7.Press the AMS knob another time returns to step 4.8.Press the MENU/NO button to display “ERROR DP MODE” and release the error
8、history mode.9.To release the test mode, press the FILTER button. 12、ays the total number of errors.Displayed as “total ”.The number of errors is displayed in hexadecimal digits from 00 to FF.err historyDisplays the 10 latest errors.Displayed as “0 E”. indicates the history number. The smaller the number, the more recent is the error. (00 is the latest). indicates th

The error history can be switched by turning the AMSknob.er refreshMode which erases the “retry err”, “total err”, and “err history” histories.When returning the unit to the customer after completing repairs, perform this to erase the past e
14、rror history.After pressing the AMS button and “er refresh?” is displayed, press the YES button to erase thehistory.“Complete!” will be displayed momentarily.Be sure to check the following when this mode has been executed. The data has been erased. The mechanism operates normally when recording and
15、play are performed.tm refreshMode which erases the “total rec” and “total play” histories.These histories serve as approximate indications of when to replace the optical pick-up.If the optical pickup has been replaced, perform this operation and erase the history.After pressing the AMS button and “t

18、et to the customer:Check the antenna terminals, metal trim, “metallized” knobs,screws, and all other exposed metal parts for AC leakage.Check leakage as described below.LEAKAGE TESTThe AC leakage from any exposed metal part to earth ground andfrom all exposed metal parts to any exposed metal part ha
19、ving areturn to chassis, must not exceed 0.5 mA (500 microamperes.).Leakage current can be measured by any one of three methods.1.A commercial leakage tester, such as the Simpson 229 or RCAWT-540A. Follow the manufacturers instructions to use theseinstruments.2.A battery-operated AC milliammeter. Th
20、e Data Precision 245digital multimeter is suitable for this job.3.Measuring the voltage drop across a resistor by means of aVOM or battery-operated AC voltmeter. The “limit” indica-tion is 0.75 V, so analog meters must have an accurate low-voltage scale. The Simpson 250 and Sanwa SH-63Trd are ex-amp
21、les of a passive VOM that is suitable. Nearly all batteryoperated digital multimeters that have a 2 V AC range are suit-able.
