4、 electricity . Such components com-monly are called Electrostatically Sensitive Devices (ESD). Examples of typical ESD devices are integrated cir -cuits and some field-effect transistors and semiconductor chip components. The following techniques shouldbe used to help reduce the incidence of compone

5、nt damage caused by static electricity .1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain offany electrostatic charge on your body by touching a known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear acommercially available discharging wrist strap devic

6、e, which should be removed for potential shock reasonsprior to applying power to the unit under test.2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ESD devices, place the assembly on a conductive sur -face such as aluminum foil, to prevent electrostatic charge buildup or exposure of the asse

7、mbly .3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ESD devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as anti-staticcan generate electrical charges sufficient to damage ESD devices.5. Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These

8、 can generate electrical charges sufficient to damage ESDdevices.6. Do not remove a replacement ESD device from its protective package until immediately before you areready to install it. (Most replacement ESD devices are packaged with leads electrically shorted together byconductive foam, aluminum

9、foil or comparable conductive materials).7. Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ESD device, touch theprotective material to the chassis or circuit assembly into which the device will by installed.CAUTION : BE SURE NO POWER IS APPLIED TO THE CHASSIS OR

10、CIRCUIT, AND OBSERVE ALLOTHER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.8. Minimize bodily motions when handing unpackaged replacement ESD devices. (Otherwise harmless motionsuch as the brushing together of your clothes fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpeted floor can gen -erate static electricity sufficient t

Notes for transport and storage1) The pick-up should always be left in its conductive bag until immediately prior to use.2) The pic

12、k-up should never be subjected to external pressure or impact.2. Repair notes1) The pick-up incorporates a strong magnet, and so should never be brought close to magnetic materials.2) The pick-up should always be handled correctly and carefully, taking care to avoid external pressure andimpact. If i

13、t is subjected to strong pressure or impact, the result may be an operational malfunctionand/or damage to the printed-circuit board.3) Each and every pick-up is already individually adjusted to a high degree of precision, and for that reasonthe adjustment point and installation screws should absolut

14、ely never be touched.4) Laser beams may damage the eyes!Absolutely never permit laser beams to enter the eyes!Also NEVER switch ON the power to the laser output part (lens, etc.) of the pick-up if it is damaged.5) Cleaning the lens surfaceIf there is dust on the lens surface, the dust should be clea

15、ned away by using an air bush (such as usedfor camera lens). The lens is held by a delicate spring. When cleaning the lens surface, therefore, a cot -ton swab should be used, taking care not to distort this.6) Never attempt to disassemble the pick-up.Spring by excess pressure. If the lens is extreme

16、ly dirty, apply isopropyl alcohol to the cotton swab. (Donot use any other liquid cleaners, because they will damage the lens.) Take care not to use too much ofthis alcohol on the swab, and do not allow the alcohol to get inside the pick-up.Storage in conductive bagNEVER look directly at the laser b

Preparations1) Compact disc players incorporate a great m

18、any ICs as well as the pick-up (laser diode). These compo-nents are sensitive to, and easily affected by, static electricity. If such static electricity is high voltage,components can be damaged, and for that reason components should be handled with care.2) The pick-up is composed of many optical co

19、mponents and other high-precision components. Care mustbe taken, therefore, to avoid repair or storage where the temperature of humidity is high, where strongmagnetism is present, or where there is excessive dust.2. Notes for repair1) Before replacing a component part, first disconnect the power sup

20、ply lead wire from the unit2) All equipment, measuring instruments and tools must be grounded.3) The workbench should be covered with a conductive sheet and grounded.When removing the laser pick-up from its conductive bag, do not place the pick-up on the bag. (This isbecause there is the possibility

21、 of damage by static electricity.)4) To prevent AC leakage, the metal part of the soldering iron should be grounded.5) Workers should be grounded by an armband (1M)6) Care should be taken not to permit the laser pick-up to come in contact with clothing, in order to preventstatic electricity changes

If you press the AVR Button g, one set of functions is acti

38、ve, identical to the functions for buttons CD, Tape, Video 1/2/3. If you press the DVD/HDMI1 Button 5, some of the buttons change their function as indicated above the button itself, and explained below. Refer to the function table for an overview of functions in both modes. NoTE that pressing the H

39、DMI1 and DVD buttons 5 activate the alternative commands as seen in the function list on page 7.0 Power On Button: Press this button to turn on the power to the AVR or the DVD selected by pressing either the AVR or the DVD/HDMI1 Button g or 5.1 This indicator is not active.2 IR Transmitter Window: P

40、oint this window towards the AVR when pressing buttons on the remote to make certain that infrared commands are properly received.3 Power Off Button: Press this button to place the AVR or a selected device unit in the standby mode. If held for more than 3 seconds, both the AVR and the DVD switch to

41、standby. 4 Mute: Press this button to momentarily silence the AVR or TV set being controlled, depending on which device has been selected.5 Input Selectors: Pressing one of these buttons will perform three actions at the same time. first, if the AVR is not turned on, this will power up the unit. Nex

42、t, it will select the source shown on the button as the input to the AVR. finally, the DVD/HDMI1 button will switch the double-function remote buttons to their DVD functions. After pressing the DVD/HDMI1 button, you must press the AVR Selector button g again to operate all the AVRs functions with th

43、e remote. Note that pressing the DVD button switches on boTH the AVR and the DVD, whereas pressing the AVR button just switches on the AVR.6 6-Channel Direct Input: Press this button to select the component connected to the 6-Channel Direct Input N as the audio. Note that when you wish to use the si

44、x Channel Direct Input in conjunction with a video source, you must first select the video source by pressing one of the Input Selectors 5. Then press this button to choose the 6-Channel Direct Input N as the audio source.7 Volume Up/Down: Press these buttons to raise or lower the system volume.8 HD

45、 Mode Selector (DVD): When the DVD player is connected to a video display using the HDMI Output A, the display sends information to the DVD indicating the highest video resolution it is capable of handling, and the DVD automatically sets the video output to match it. Pressing this button allows you

46、to manually change the output resolution, with your selection indicated by the Video Output Indicators O. The DVD will not allow you to select a resolution beyond the capabilities of your display, and if you try to do so, an on-screen error message will appear to alert you to the selection of an inc

47、ompatible video format. Changes made with this button remain active until the DVD or the display is turned off. When either is turned off, and then on again, the DVD will revert to the default setting transmitted by the display.9 Speaker Select/Setup: Press this button to begin the process of config

48、uring the AVRs bass Management system for use with the type of speakers used in your system. once the button has been pressed, use the KL buttons Z to select the channel you wish to set up. Press the OK button A and then select the speaker type (see page 14 for more information.)for DVD: Press this

49、button to use the DVDs on-screen menu system to adjust the players configuration settings. Note that the Info Button 6 must be pressed to access the DVDs Information menu to obtain detailed disc information, and to configure the playback mode of the disc.A OK Button: This button is used to enter set

50、tings into the AVRs memory. It is also used in the setup procedures for delay time, speaker configuration and channel output level adjustment. B Delay/Status Button: Press this button to begin the process for setting the delay times used by the AVR when processing surround sound. After pressing this
