24、L CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONS 5SUB-TS15 SUBWOOFER AMPLIFIER PANEL CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONS Subwoofer-Level Control: Volume may be adjusted using the Subwoofer-Level Control.Turn the control clockwise to increase the SUB-TS15s volume, or counterclockwise to decrease it. High-Cut (Low-Pass) Filter Switch

25、:Placing this switch in the ON position acti-vates circuitry that cuts out all audio inputsignals above 120Hz.This allows the SUB-TS15 to focus its power on reproducing thelow-frequency portion of the signal, avoidinginefficiency and distortion. Engage this filterwhen using the Speaker-Level Inputs

26、,or when using the Line-Level Full-RangeInputs , unless your receiver or processorprocesses its line-level output using a low-pass filter.The filter has no effect when theSUB Input is used. External Trigger Input: Use the sup-plied mini-plug cable to connect the triggeroutput of another compatible p

27、roduct to thisjack.Whenever a trigger signal between 3 and 30 volts (AC or DC) is detected, the SUB-TS15 amplifier will turn on, even whenthe Audio-Sense feature has been activatedby placing the Audio-Sense On/Off Switch in the AUTO position.The amplifier willremain on for about 1015 minutes without

28、a trigger signal. 30、AMPLIFIER PANEL CONTROLS AND CONNECTIONSplace itself in the Standby mode,depending onwhether it is receiving an audio signal.Whenthis switch is placed in the ON position,theSUB-TS15 will remain on,whether or not it isreceiving an audio signal.An LED located on top of the SUB-TS15indicates whether th

31、e SUB-TS15 is in theON or STANDBY state when used with theAudio-Sense On/Off Switch in theAUTO position.The LED is lit blue to indi-cate that the SUB-TS15 is receiving anaudio signal and is turned on, and the LED is lit amber to indicate that no signal is being received and the SUB-TS15 is inStandby

32、 mode.When the Audio-Sense On/Off Switch is in the ON position, the LED will be lit blue, whether or not an audio signal is present.When the Master Power Switch isturned off, the LED goes dark, no matterwhich position the Audio-Sense On/OffSwitch is in. Phase Switch: This switch determineswhether th

33、e SUB-TS15 subwoofers piston-like action moves in and out in phase withthe main speakers. If the speakers were toplay out of phase, the sound waves pro-duced by the subwoofer would be cancelledout, reducing bass response.This phenome-non depends in part on the relative place-ment of the speakers in

34、the room. In mostcases, the Phase Switch should be leftin the NORMAL position. However, itdoes no harm to experiment with the PhaseSwitch , and you may leave it in theposition that maximizes bass response. Line-Level Subwoofer (SUB) Input:Connect the subwoofer output of a receiverwith digital surrou

35、nd sound decoding, suchas DolbyDigital or DTS,to this input.Thisinput bypasses the SUB-TS15s internalcrossover circuitry, and should only be usedwith a filtered signal. If your receiver does nothave digital decoding,you should use theLine-Level Full-Range Inputs instead. Line-Level Full-Range Inputs

36、: Connectthe line-level subwoofer output or preamp out-put(s) of your receiver or amplifier to theseinputs.If your receiver does not have a sepa-rate subwoofer output,use a Y-adapter (notsupplied) to bridge the receivers preamp out-put to the main amp input for that channel,and connect the long end

37、of the adapter to the corresponding line-level input on theSUB-TS15.If your receiver has only a singlesubwoofer output,you may connect it to either the left or right line-level input on theSUB-TS15,and no Y-adapter is needed. Speaker-Level Outputs: If you areusing the Speaker-Level Inputs on theSUB-

38、TS15, you should connect these bind-ing-post terminals to your front left and rightspeakers, remembering to maintain polarityby connecting the (+) terminal on the SUB-TS15 subwoofer to the (+) terminal on thespeaker, and the () terminal on the SUB-TS15 subwoofer to the () terminal on thespeaker. If

39、you are not using the Speaker-Level Inputs , then connect your frontleft and right speakers directly to your receiveror amplifier. See pages 9 through 12 for further information on speaker connections. Speaker-Level Inputs: If your receiveror amplifier does not have a line-level sub-woofer output, c

40、onnect these binding-postterminals to the main left and right speakerterminals of your receiver or amplifier.Remember to maintain polarity by connectingthe (+) terminal on the receiver/amplifier to the(+) terminal on the SUB-TS15 subwoofer,andthe () terminal on the receiver/amplifier to the() termin

41、al on the SUB-TS15 subwoofer. Master Power Switch: Place thisswitch in the “” position to power-on theSUB-TS15 subwoofer.The SUB-TS15 willthen be either in the Standby mode or com-pletely on, depending on the position of theAudio-Sense On/Off Switch . AC Power Cord: Make sure to plug this cord into

46、R CONNECTIONS 11Dolby Pro Logic(Non-Digital) Line LevelUSE THIS INSTALLATION METHOD FORDOLBY PRO LOGIC APPLICATIONS (NOTDOLBY DIGITAL, DTS OR OTHER DIGITALPROCESSING),WHERE THE RECEIVER/PROCESSOR IS EQUIPPED WITH A SUB-WOOFER OUTPUT, OR A VOLUME-CONTROLLED PREAMP (LINE-) LEVEL OUTPUT:Use the supplie

47、d RCA-type interconnectcable to connect the line-level subwooferoutput on your receiveror amplifier to eitherthe left or right Line-Level Full-RangeInput on the SUB-TS15 subwoofer.Use both the left and right inputs on thesubwoofer if your receiver or processor hasboth left and right line-level outpu

In thatcase, you will need to supply a secondinterconnect cable.If your receiver is equipped with line-level out-puts but does not have a separate subwooferoutput,use a Y-adapter (not supplied) tobridge the receivers preamp output to themain amp input for that channel,and connectthe long end of
