ANALOG IN/OUT Characteristic Inspection 2-1. QL5: INPUT 1-16 OMNI OUT 1-16 QL1: INPUT 1-8 OMNI OUT 1-8 Parameters: QL5: Input the analog signal from INPUT (XLR) of CH 1-16 and measure the signal output from OUTPUT of CH 1-16. Assign OMNI IN CH 1-16 to OMNI OUT 1-16. QL1: Input the analog signal from INPUT (XLR) of CH 1-8 and measure the signal output from OUTPUT of CH 1-8. Assign OMNI IN CH 1-8 to OMNI OUT 1-8. A. Preparation 1-1. Measuring Instruments Use measuring instruments which can measure the inspection items accurately with confi dence. Input impedance of the measuring device should be 100 k or more. System Two Multi-Volt Meter Filter (12.7 kHz, 6 dB/OCT) Level meter 1-2. Parameters Unless otherwise specified, the parameter settings are as follows. Set the WORD CLOCK to INT 48 kHz. Set the +48 V MASTER to ON. Turn on only the channel being measured. PAN : CENTER GAIN : MIN FADER : NOMINAL (0 dB) PHONES LEVEL : MAX 0 dBu = 0.775 Vrms 0 dBFS = 0 dB, full scale The oscillator output impedance should be 150 . Measure the noise level with a 12.7 kHz, 6 dB/octave low pass fi lter. (For measurement, use the average values and not effective values.) When using the Audio Precision Audio Analyzer System Two and 2700 series, set the Detector Reading Rate to 4/ sec. Correct the distortion measurement with an 80 kHz, 18 dB/octave low pass fi lter. For analog output inspection, add or change parameter settings as follows. For maximum output measurement, unless otherwise specifi ed, output 0 dB from the internal oscillator. Set the analog output loads as follows: OMNI OUT: 600 PHONES: 8 1-3. Updating the Program If the main program is not the latest version, it is required to update it to the latest version. * For the latest version, download the latest program from the YSISS home page and save it in the USB memory device. (1) How to check the version of the main program Press the SET UP button on the LCD screen and the current version will be shown in the “SETUP” page screen. (2) How to update the program For the program updating procedure, refer to the “UPDATING FIRMWARE”. (See page 154.) QL5/QL1 117 C. PHANTOM VOLTAGE (INPUT 1) With No.2 and No.3 pins of XLR shorted and 10 k load connected between No.2 and No.1 pins, check that the voltage is as follows when the +48 key is turned on. Also, check that discharging starts immediately when the +48 key is turned off. 2-2. PLL Operating Range of WORD CLOCK IN Parameters: Use the System Two. When measuring L channel: QL5: Use OMNI OUT 15 (L). QL1: Use OMNI OUT 7 (L). When measuring R channel: QL5: Use OMNI OUT 16 (R). QL1: Use OMNI OUT 8 (R). Select WC IN for WORD CLOCK. Input from INPUT 1. Use the Dante Controller. Fader Inspection Parameters: Use the SEISAN1.QL5A fi le for the scene data for fader inspection. INSPECTIONS Recall scenes 1 to 4 one by one to operate the fader for the following check. Judgment criteria 1: Check that no fader vibrates when stopping at - and +10 dB indications during the above operation. Check that no fader vibrates while the fader is moving (during the fading time) when recalling scenes 3 and 4 and that no fader delays by more than 0.5 second compared with the adjacent fader. Judgment criteria 2: Check that the fader positions are as follows. 1 When all the faders are at the topmost place. Make sure that all the faders are within 2 mm from the 10 dB indication. 2 When all the faders are at the lowermost place. Make sure that all the faders are within 2 mm from the - indication. 5. Sound Check Check the following items by listening. q ANALOG INPUT, ANALOG OUTPUT Parameters: Check at INPUT 1 - OMNI OUT 7. Select WORD CLOCK as follows and make sure that the sound is not interrupted while listening for 15 seconds or longer. 1) DANTE 48 kHz 2) DANTE 44.1 kHz w EFFECT function (DSP6 operation check) Parameters: Use the “SEISAN1.QL5A” file as “sound scene data”. Set WORD CLOCK to INT 48 kHz. Put music signals into DANTE input and listen to output from PHONES OUT. To put music signals into DANTE input, use Cubase. For the details, refer to “DANTE sound output check” on page 170. INSPECTIONS Recall scene 5 (Reverb) and check the signal for at least 15 seconds. A. 48 KHz + 4.1667 % (50 kHz) Parameters: When checking the WORD CLOCK IN, set the oscillator frequency to 50 kHz. Set the Sample Rate column on the Device Confi g screen as follows. Sample Rate: 44 k Pull-up/down: +4.1667 % 1 Distortion (WORD CLOCK IN) B. 44.1 kHz - 4 % (42.336 kHz) Parameters: When checking the WORD CLOCK IN, set the oscillator frequency to 42.336 kHz. Set the Sample Rate column in the Device Confi g screen as follows. Sample Rate: 44 k Pull-up/down: -4 % 1 Distortion (WORD CLOCK IN) 3-4. Jitter Measurement Parameters: Use System Two. Select Sec, PK. BW: Select 700 Hz to 100 kHz. Use DIGITAL OUT for the inspection. A. WORD CLOCK INT Parameters: Select the WORD CLOCK values shown in the following table. 1 Jitter B.
