If not,please consult yourdealer.a71Place the DVD player on a flat,hard and stablesurface.a71There must be sufficient room in front of theplayer for the drawer to be opened.a71In cabinet,allow about 2.5cm (1 inch) of freespace all around the player for adequateventilation.a71Do not expose your player to extreme oftemperature or humidity.a71If the DVD player is brought directly from a coldto a warm location,or is placed in a very damproom,moisture may condense on the lens of thedisc unit inside the DVD player. Batteries contain chemical substances,so they should be disposed off properlyand kept away from children.Using the Remote Controla71Direct the remote control at the remote sensor of the DVD player.a71Do not drop the remote control.a71Do not leave the remote control near extremelyhot or humid place.a71Do not spill water or put anything wet on theremote control.PreparationDirections for UseEN 10 DVD 620 /0X13.13EnglishTV System (NTSC/PAL Conversion)Allows you to select between PAL,NTSC andAUTO mode depending on your TV.The conversions supported are as follows:NTSCPALNTSCNotSupportedPALPALNTSCPALNTSCNTSCPALPALDiscOutput formatTypeDVDVCDNTSCFormatSelected modePALNTSCPALNTSCPALAUTO1In the Personal Preferences Menu,select TVSystem.2Press 3or 4to select PAL,NTSC or AUTO.Notes: AUTO can only be selected when using a TVthat has both the NTSC and PAL systems.This is applicable for CVBS output on cinchand SCART only.Slight picture distortions may occur due to thisconversion.This is normal.Thus, the AUTO formatis most suitable for the best picture quality.Sound Digital output¶Digital output selection enables you to specifythe type of digital output which is suitable toyour receiver.¶Select ALL (default setting),if you had connectedyour DIGITAL AUDIO OUT to a multichaneldecoder receiver.¶Select PCM only if your receiver is not capableof decoding multichannel audio.¶Select OFF to deactivate the DIGITAL AUDIOOUT.Analogue outputSelect Stereo, Dolby Surround-compatible or 3DSound output to match your systems playbackcapability.Night ModeWhen set to ON,the dynamics of your soundoutput are optimised.High volume outputs aresoftened,enabling you to watch your favouriteaction movie without disturbing others.Karaoke vocalPut this setting to ON only when a multi-channelkaraoke DVD is being played.The karaokechannels on the disc will then be mixed into anormal stereo sound.Preparation12English16:94:3 Letter Box4:3 Pan ScanPersonal PreferencesIn the Personal Preferences settings menu,youcan customize you player to suit your ownparticular requirements.General operation:1Press SYSTEM MENU on the remote control.2The will be highlighted in the menu bar.3Press 4to activate the Personal Preferencesmenu.4Use the 1 2 3 4keys to toggle through thefunctions and select your preferred option.5Press OK to confirm a highlighted selection.The following items are available:PictureTV ShapeSelect the aspect ratio of the TV to beconnected. 16:9when you connect a wide-screen TV tothe DVD player.4:3 LETTER BOXwhen you connect anormal TV to the DVD player. Displays a widepicture with bands displayed on the upper andlower portions of the TV screen.4:3 PAN SCANwhen you connect anormal TV to the DVD player. Displays the widepicture on the whole TV screen with a portionautomatically cut off.Note: Pan Scan is subject to availability on the disc.Black level shift (NTSC output only)Select ON for adapting the colour dynamics toobtain richer contrasts.Video shiftUse this setting to personalize the position ofthe picture on your TV by scrolling it to the leftor right.Smart Picture¶Colour settings You can select one of five predefined sets ofcolour settings and one set (Personal) which youcan define yourself.¶When Personal is selected it allows you to fine-tune saturation,brightness and contrast¶Use 3or 4keys to adjust the values of theseparameters.Preparation
