PC Mode5-1. PrefaceThe transceiver is programmed by using a personal com-puter, programming interface (KPG-46) and programmingsoftware (KPG-102D).The programming software can be used with an IBM PCor compatible. Figure 1 shows the setup of an IBM PC forprogramming.5-2. Connection procedure1. Connect the transceiver to the personal computer withthe interface cable.2. When the POWER switch on, user mode can be enteredimmediately. When PC sends command the transceiverenter PC mode, and “PROGRAM” is displayed on theLCD.When data transmitting from transceiver, the red LED islights. When data receiving to transceiver, the green LED islights.Note:The data stored in the personal computer must matchmodel type, when it is written into the EEPROM.5-3. KPG-46 description(PC programming interface cable: Option)The KPG-46 is required to interface the transceiver to thecomputer. It has a circuit in its D-sub connector (25-pin) casethat converts the RS-232C logic level to the TTL level. The KPG-46 connects the MIC connector of the trans-ceiver to the computers RS-232C serial port.5-4. Programming software KPG-102D descriptionThe KPG-102D is the programming software for the trans-ceiver supplied on a CD-ROM. This software runs under MS-Windows 98, ME, Windows 2000 or XP on an IBM-PC orcompatible machine. The data can be input to or read from the transceiver andedited on the screen. The programmed or edited data can beprinted out. It is also possible to tune the transceiver.KPG-102DTK-90IBM-PCIBM计算机KPG-46Fig. 1 / .nullNRK=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“RJNK=.nullnonmarkingreturn.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&“'()*+=EhmdJQSF=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“EhmdJNMOaF=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“f_j.nullnonmarkingreturn !“# $%&'()*+,-N.nullnonmarkingreturnf_j.nullnonmarkingreturn .nullnonmarkingreturn !“#RJOK=.nullnonmarkingreturn !NK.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+,)-./OK.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+,-.null./0123456.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%!&'()*moldoj.null=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#.nullnonmarkingreturn.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+,-iba.nullnonmarkingreturn .nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+,-iba.nullnonmarkingreturn .nullnonmarkingreturn .nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&' ()*+,-#%nonmarkingreturn.null./012.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*RJPK=hmdJQS.nullnonmarkingreturn=E.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'(FhmdJQS.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'(%)*+,-a.nullnonmarkingreturn !EOR.nullF=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%“&'(“&)*+opJOPO.nullnonmarkingreturn !.nullnonmarkingreturn qqi.nullnonmarkingreturn hmdJQS.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$jf.nullnonmarkingreturn .nullnonmarkingreturn!“#$opJOPO.null.nullnonmarkingreturn !RJQK=.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#hmdJNMOa.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*'($+,-./f_jJm.nullnonmarkingreturn !.null“táåÇçïë=VU.nulljb.nulltáåÇçïë=OMMM.nullum.null.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+,&'()*-./.nullnonmarkingreturn01.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()%*+%&,-./01234'.nullnonmarkingreturn !“#$%&'()*+REALIGNMENT / .nullnonmarkingreturn !TK-9076. Firmware Programming Mode6-1. SummaryThe flash memory within the microcomputer of the trans-ceiver can be upgraded when new features are added or ex-isting specifications are modified.6-2. ConnectionUse the KPG-46 interface cable to connect the micro-phone terminal of the transceiver and the COM terminal ofthe PC.6-3. Programming1. Run the PC firmware programming software (Fpro.exe).2. Set the communication baud rate to 19,200 bps. (Do notuse other baud rates, as they cannot be used for commu-nications.)3. Select the new firmware file.4. While press the key, turn the transceiver power on.“PROG 19200” will appear on the transceiver display.5. Confirm the connection between the transceiver and thePC.6. Press the “Write” button on the PC screen. “PG” willappear on the transceiver display when data reception be-gins.7. When data reception has completed, the transceiver willcalculate the checksum and indicate the results.8. To repeat the data writing process on additional transceiv-ers, repeat steps 4 to 7.Notes: The TK-90 hardware can use only a baud rate of 19,200bps for communications. The transceiver baud rate cannot be changed.A communication error where occur and programmingcannot be performed if the firmware programming soft-ware (Fpro.exe) is set to a baud rate other than 19,200bps. It takes approximately 2 1/2 minutes to reprogram a singletransceiver.6-4. Function1. While “PROG 19200” appears on the display, you can cal-culate the checksum by pressing the key. The resultswill be indicated on the display.2. While the checksum results are displayed, press the key again to return the display to “PROG 19200”.7. Clone ModeMemory channel data can be transferred from one radio toanother by connecting them via their MIC connectors. Theoperation is as follows (the transmit radio is the source andthe receive radio is a target). The “password” of description by explanation of 1. to 6.are “Read Authorization Password”.1. Turn the source transceiver power ON with the keyheld down. The transceiver displays “CLONE”.2. Power on the target transceiver.3. Connect the cloning ca
