However, if the curren channel space setting does not match thesetting in the area where the system is to beused, for instance when you move from area 1or area 2 shown in the following table or viceversa, proper reception of AM/FM broadcastscannot be expected. In this case, change thechannel space setting for each AM and FMbroadcast in accordance with your area byreferring to the following table. When the system is on, pressTUNER/bandbutton to select TUNER mode and wavebandof which you wish to set the channel space. Then, while pressing 6button, press 4button to switch the channel space.AreaU.S.A., Canada and South American countriesCHANNELSpace frequency12Other countriesFM: 100 kHzAM: 10 kHzFM: 50 kHzAM: 9 kHzCAUTIONPlace the unit where the AC power cord canbe easily unplugged. The power in this unit will not be completelycut off from the AC wall outlet when thepower completely, unplug the AC power cord from the AC wall outlet. The marking of products using lasersThe marking this product has been classified as Class 1. If this happens, execute the followingprocedure to reset the microcomputer andreturn the unit to its normal operating condition.Plug in the AC power cord to the wall outlet, and within 5 seconds, press and hold downthe 7button and press CD button. Please note that resetting the microcomputerwill clear the contents of the memory andreturn the unit to the state it was in when itleft the factory.Remote control unit (1)(A70-1690-08): E(A70-1691-08): MXAM loop antenna (1)(T90-0908-08)ANT TERMI CVR(F07-2029-08)Batteries (R6/AA) (2)AC plug adapter (1)(E03-0115-05)Use to adapt the plug on the power cord to the shape of the wall outlet.(Accessory only for regions where use is necessary.)()RXD-M372CONTENTS / ACCESSORIES / CAUTIONSACCESSORIES CONTENTS CAUTIONSRXD-M373EXTERNAL VIEWRear cab.(A80-4503-08)Voltage selector *(S62-0124-08)Rubber foot(G11-2957-08)SYSTEMRECEIVERSPEAKERSHM-337-LRXD-M37-LLS-M37-LHM-337-SRXD-M37-SLS-M37-SSystem configuration*Refer to parts list on page 18.RXD-M374ADJUSTMENTSERVICE ADJUSTMENT Lubrication The mechanical partsare factorycoated with a thin coat oflight greaseand should not require furtherlubrication. Ifa light greaseisapplied, be careful not to get anygrease on the play/recordhead orerase head, hubs, pulleys, tapesreels, drive belts, orswitches. Use a good lubricant suchasSilicon Lube G322L orLubricate.Service Check Before aligning the mechanism, wipe offanyaccumulated dirt with denatured alcohol. Wipe around partswhere the tape contactsand around all rotating parts. Drive beltsare speciallyprocessed. Do not clean themwith alcohol. Mechanical TorqueUse a cassette type torque gauge and checkthe tape mechanism.Take-up torque 35 to 70 g-cmRewind torque 50 g-cmmin. Fastforward torque 50 g-cmmin. PinchWheel Pressure No adjustment to the pinch rollerspring isnecessary. It should be sufficient to give at least 40 g-cmpull force.Tape Head Servicing Each time the unit isserviced, the faceofall headsshould be thoroughlycleaned with denatured alcohol orcommercial head cleaning solution. The playbackhead should be demagnetized with a commercial demagnetizer. Accumulation oftape oxide during normal operationscan cause problems, including lossofhigh frequenciesand wowand flutter. Erase Head The erase head isproperlyaligned when the tape ridesdirectlybetween the tape guide on the head without crinkling the tape.
