Adjust A2 for maximum amplitude and stralghtness of diagonal line as per Fig 2. Adjust Al so 21.25M2 marker is at center of diagonal line. Continue with step 4. Before starting video IF alignment connect VTVM between Junction of R25 and R26 and chassis. Adjust contrast control to give VTVM reading of -3V. Leave contrast control at this setting for entire video IF alignment. Remove 6J6 local oscillator tube V3 to prevent erroneous Indications. WAVE TRAP ADJUSTMENT Wave traps A34 and ASS are used for specific types of Interference and their alignment will depend upon the type encountered. With the receiver t uned to the channel having the Interference set fine tuning control until Interference Is at maximum. Adjust A34 and A35 for minimum Interference In the picture and sound. To set pointer turn tuning cap fully closed and set pointer to last reference mark at low frequency end of dial. Volume control should be at maximum position. Output of signal generator should be no higher than necessary to obtain an output reading. Use an Insulated alignment screwdriver for adjusting. FM IF ALIGNMENT USING AM SIGNAL GENERATOR AND VTVM Connect two matched 100K2 (t 1%) resistors In series from Polntdjto chassis.
