Follow the manufacturers instructions to use theseinstruments.2.A battery-operated AC milliammeter. The Data Precision 245digital multimeter is suitable for this job.3.Measuring the voltage drop across a resistor by means of aVOM or battery-operated AC voltmeter. The “limit” indicationis 0.75 V, so analog meters must have an accurate low-voltagescale. The Simpson 250 and Sanwa SH-63Trd are examplesof a passive VOM that is suitable. Nearly all battery operateddigital multimeters that have a 2 V AC range are suitable. Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40 C higherthan ordinary solder.Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to beapplied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time.Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set toabout 350 C.Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away ifthe heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful! Strong viscosityUnleaded solder is more viscou-s (sticky, less prone to flow)than ordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridgesoccur such as on IC pins, etc. Usable with ordinary solderIt is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder mayalso be added to ordinary solder.Notes on chip component replacement Never reuse a disconnected chip component. Notice that the minus side of a tantalum capacitor may bedamaged by heat.Flexible Circuit Board Repairing Keep the temperature of the soldering iron around 270 Cduring repairing. Do not touch the soldering iron on the same conductor of thecircuit board (within 3 times). Be careful not to apply force on the conductor when solderingor unsoldering.Laser component in this product is capable of emitting radiationexceeding the limit for Class 1.This appliance is classified asa CLASS 1 LASER product. The CLASS 1 LASERPRODUCT MARKING islocated on the rear exterior.TABLE OF CONTENTS1.SERVICING NOTES.42.GENERAL.53.DISASSEMBLY3-1.Disassembly Flow .83-2.Cover Top, DC Fan.93-3.AMP Board, AV Board, Tuner (FM/AM) .93-4.MPEG Board . 103-5.DVD Mech Cover A/B . 103-6.Panel (DVD) . 113-7.DVD Loader (KDA898ST) . 113-8.Front Panel Section . 123-9.MAIN Board. 123-10. Therefore, when checking the laser diode emission, observe from more than 30 cm away from the objective lens.LASER DIODE AND FOCUS SEARCH OPERATIONCHECKCarry out the “S curve check” in “CD section adjustment” and checkthat the S curve waveforms is output three times.NOTES ON HANDLING THE OPTICAL PICK-UPBLOCK OR BASE UNITMODEL IDENTIFICATION Back Panel Power requirement indicationModelPower Voltage IndicationUS, CND models120 V AC, 60 HzAEP, UK, RU models230 V AC, 50/60 HzSP, E3, E51 models110 120 V/220 240V AC, 50/60 HzKR model220 V AC, 60 HzAUS model230 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz AbbreviationAUS: Australian model.CND: Canadian model.E3: 240 V AC area in E model.E51: Chilean and Peruvian model.KR: Korea model.RU: Russian model.SP: Singapore model.
