In addition, other electrical/electronic and/orplastic (where applicable) components may also contain traces of chemicals found by the California Health andWelfare Agency (and possibly other entities) to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.DO NOT PLACE SOLDER, ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC OR PLASTIC COMPONENTS IN YOUR MOUTH FORANY REASON WHATSOEVER!Avoid prolonged, unprotected contact between solder and your skin! When soldering, do not inhale solder fumesor expose eyes to solder/flux vapor! If you come in contact with solder or components located inside the enclosure of this product, wash your handsbefore handling food.Laser Emitting conditions:1) When the Top Cover is removed, and the POWER SW is turned to the ON position, the laser component will emit abeam for several seconds to detect if a disc is present. During this time (5-10 sec.) the laser may radiate through thelens of the laser pick-up unit. Do not attempt any servicing during this period! If no disc is detected, the laser will stop emitting the beam. When a disc is set, you will not be exposed to any laseremissions.2) The laser power level can be adjusted with the VR on the pick-up PWB, however, this level has been set by the factoryprior to shipping from the factory. Do not adjust this laser level control unless instruction is provided elsewhere in thismanual. Adjustment of this control can increase the laser emission level from the device.RadioFans.CN 收音机爱 好者资料库DVD-C996/DV-C6280DVD-C996DV-C62802Laser Diode PropertiesWave length: 665 nmLaser power: CLASS IILaser output: Max. 1.0mW (Continuous)Output value determined by 21 CFR CHAPTER1,SUBCHAPTER JVARO!: AVATTAESSA JA SUOJALUKITUS OHITETTAESSA OLET ALTTIINA NKYMTTMLLELASER-STEILYLLE. Such components commonly are called ElectrostaticallySensitive (ES) Devices. Examples of typical ES devices are integrated circuits and some field-effect transistors and semiconductor “chip”components. The following techniques should be used to help reduce the incidence of component damage caused by electro static discharge(ESD).1. Immediately before handling any semiconductor component or semiconductor-equipped assembly, drain off any ESD on your body by touchinga known earth ground. Alternatively, obtain and wear a commercially available discharging ESD wrist strap, which should be removed forpotential shock reasons prior to applying power to the unit under test.2. After removing an electrical assembly equipped with ES devices, place the assembly on a conductive surface such as aluminum foil, to preventelectrostatic charge buildup or exposure of the assembly.3. Use only a grounded-tip soldering iron to solder or unsolder ES devices.4. Use only an anti-static solder removal device. Some solder removal devices not classified as “anti-static (ESD protected)” can generateelectrical charge sufficient to damage ES devices.5. Do not use freon-propelled chemicals. These can generate electrical charges sufficient to damage ES devices.6. Do not remove a replacement ES device from its protective package until immediately before you are ready to install it. (Most replacement ESdevices are packaged with leads electrically shorted together by conductive foam, aluminum foil or comparable conductive material).7. Immediately before removing the protective material from the leads of a replacement ES divice, touch the protective material to the chassis orcircuit assembly into which the device will be installed.CAUTION: Be sure no power is applied to the chassis or circuit, and observe all other safety precautions.8. Minimize bodily motions when handling unpackaged replacement ES devices. (Otherwise harmless motion such as the brushing together ofyour clothes fabric or the lifting of your foot from a carpeted floor can generate static electricity (ESD) sufficient to damage an ES device). There are special components used in this equipment which are important for safety. These parts are marked Z by in the schematic diagrams, exploded views and replacement parts list. It isessential that these critical parts should be replaced with manufacturers specified parts to prevent shock, fire, orother hazards. Do not modify the original design without permission of manufacturer.IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICEDVD-C996/DV-C6280DVD-C996DV-C62804I PRECAUTION, LASER DIODEI HANDLING PRECAUTIONS FOR TRAVERSE DECKCAUTION:This unit utilizes a class II laser. Visible laser radiation is emitted from the optical pickup lens when theunit is turned on:1.Do not look directly into the pickup lens.2.Do not use optical instruments to look at the pickup lens.3.Do not adjust the preset variable resistor on the optical pickup.4.Do not disassemble the optical pickup unit.5.If the optical pickup is replaced, use the manufactures specified replacement pickup only.6.Use of control or adjustment or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardousradiation exposure. The laser diode in the optical pickup may break down due topotential difference caused by static electricity of clothes orhuman body.So be careful of electrostatic breakdown during repair of theoptical pickup.Handling of optical pickup1.Do not subject the optical pickup to static electricityas it is extremely sensitive to electrical shock.2.To prevent the breakdown of the laser diode,an antistatic shorting bridge is soldered into theflexible board (FPC Board). When removing or connecting the shorting bridge, finish the job in as short times as possible.3.Be careful not to apply excessive stress to theflexible board (FPC Board).4.Do not turn the variable resistor (Laser power adjustment). It has already been adjusted.Grounding for electrostatic breakdown prevention1.Human body grounding.Use the antistatic wrist strap to discharge the staticelectricity from your body.2.Work table grounding.Put a conductive material (sheet) or steel sheet on the areawhere the optical pickup is placed and ground the sheet.Caution:The static electricity of your clothes will not be groundedthrough the wrist strap. So take care not to let your clothestouch the optical pickup.1MSolder(Magnified view)Use a clip or other itemto ground the unit.Flexible CablePickup unitConductive material(sheet) or steel sheetAnti-static wrist stripDVD-C996/DV-C6280DVD-C996DV-C6280I FRONT PANELSM DVD-C996M DV-C62805DVD-C996/DV-C6280DVD-C996DV-C6280I REAR PANELSM DVD-C996 U, C modelsM DV-C6280 U modelM DVD-C996 R model240V120V110V220VM DVD-C996 A model6DVD-C996/DV-C6280DVD-C996DV-C6280U .
