Before servicing, unplug the power cord to prevent an electric shock. 2. When replacing parts, use only manufacturers recommended components for safety. 3. Check the condition of the power cord. Replace if wear or damage is evident. 4. After servicing, be sure to restore the lead dress, insulation barriers, insulation papers, shields, etc. 5. Before returning the serviced equipment to the customer, be sure to make the following insulation resistance test to prevent thecustomer from being exposed to a shock hazard.IInsulation Resistance Test 1. Unplug the power cord and short the two prongs of the plug with a jumper wire. 2. Turn on the power switch. 3. Measure the resistance value with ohmmeter between the jumper AC plug and each exposed metal cabinet part, such as screwheads, control shafts, handle brackets, etc. Equipment with antenna terminals should read between 3M and 5.2M toallexposedparts. (Fig. A) Equipment without antenna terminals should read approximately infinity to all exposed parts. (Fig. B)*Note: Some exposed partsmay beisolated from the chassis by design. These will read infinity.(Fig. A)(Fig. B) 4. If the measurement is outside the specified limits, there is a possibility of a shock hazard. The equipment should be repairedand rechecked before it is returned to the customer.3SL-DZ1200PP / SL-DZ1200EB / SL-DZ1200EG / SL-DZ1200EP / SL-DZ1200GN2 Caution for AC Mains Lead4SL-DZ1200PP / SL-DZ1200EB / SL-DZ1200EG / SL-DZ1200EP / SL-DZ1200GNThe laser diode in the optical pick-up may break down due topotential difference caused by static electricity of clothes orhuman body.So be careful of electrostatic breakdown during repair of theoptical pick-up.3.1. Handling of traverse deckoptical pick-up 1. Do not subject the optical pick-up to static electricity as it isextremely sensitive to electrical shock. 2. To protect the laser diode against electrostatic breakdown, short the flexible board (FFC board) with a clip or similarobject. Refer to Fig. 2-1. 3. Take care not to apply excessive stress to the flexible board(FFC board). 4. Do not turn the variable resistor (laser power adjustment). Ithas already been adjusted. Refer to Fig. 2-1.Fig. 2-1.3.2. Grounding for electrostaticbreakdown prevention3.2.1. Human body groundingUse the anti-static wrist strap to discharge the static electricityfrom your body. Refer to Fig. 2-2.Fig. 2-2.3.2.2. Work table groundingPut a conductive material (sheet) or steel sheet on the areawhere the optical pick-up is placed, and ground the sheet.Refer to Fig. 2-3.Fig. 2-3.Caution:The static electricity of your clothes will not be groundedthrough the wrist strap. So take care not to let your clothes touch the optical pick-up.3 Handling Precautions for Optical pick-up5SL-DZ1200PP / SL-DZ1200EB / SL-DZ1200EG / SL-DZ1200EP / SL-DZ1200GN4 Precaution of Laser Diode6SL-DZ1200PP / SL-DZ1200EB / SL-DZ1200EG / SL-DZ1200EP / SL-DZ1200GN5 Accessories AC power supply cord for (PP) area(REZ1619).1 pc.
