The impedanceofthespeaker connecting wire would ideally be zero, soallof theamplifier output power would be deliveredtothe speakerload. For a 2-dB loss, the lengths wouldbemultiplied by 4.4.Ingeneral, note that the higher load impedances allow muchlonger smaller-gauge wiring to be used,40.GroundingThe chassisofthe unit shouldbegrounded. Connecting thechassis grounds of additional audio equipmenttothechassisground of the amplifier may help reduce noise and hum.4E.VentilationInorder to offset the heat generated by the power amplifier, itisnecessary to provide ample ventilation around the unit.Avoid blocking or impeding the vent slots of thechassis.Locatetheunit where itisfree from direct sunlight, humidity, dust or vibration to help prevent problemswhich might becausedbythe environment.5.OPERATION5A.Dual/Stereo Mode:In the dual or stereo mode the channels may be operatedindependently. There are24selectable frequencies from 50 Hzto 10,000 kHz,*CAUTION*No user serviceable parts inside. Hazardous voltageandcurrentsmay be encounteredwithinthe chassis.Toavoid electric shock, donotperformany servicingunless you are qualified todoso.50.Alternate Primary VoltageThe amplifier can be powered with line v6ltages other than120 volts by altering the primary wiring of the powertransformer. Table Illiststhe primary wire color, the terminalblock(TB),and the position of theTBthe wire should belocatedinfor operation at the desired voltage. To alter the transformer primary wiring configurationusethefollowing procedure:1.Oisconnect the amplifier from the ac power source.2.Remove thetenscrews securing the top cover. Thereare three screws on each side; two screws on the rearalong the bottom edge, and the two innermost screwsinset into the top strip on the front panel. See Figure 5for exact screw locations.3.Discharge each large capacitor carefully through a150-ohm, 2-watt resistor foratleast one minute.See Figure6.4.Locatethetwovoltage-selectionterminalblocksmounted next to each otheronthe side of the chassisbetween the power transformer and the large capacitor.5.The transformer has six primary leads. Disconnect theprimary leads of the power transformer by pulling eachwire firmly to disengage it from the terminal block.Note: The primary lead colors are black, brown, white,black/white, brown/white and white/black.6.Select the desired operating voltage on Table11andreconnect the wires accordingly. Push each wire firmlyinto the block untilitsnaps into place.7.Relocate the fan wires according to the wiring chart.8.Install the correct line fuse (valuesinTable111).9.Plug the amplifier into a variac and sweep the mainsvoltage fromzerotofulloperating voltage while monitor-ing the amplifiers dcrailvoltages. The dcrailvoltageshould be78V dc,5%at the selected primaryvoltage.10.Reinstall the top cover with the ten screws.117300STEREOPOWERAMPLIFIER(100VTBITB25FAN(YL)WHWH/BLK7FAN(YL)8BRNIWH9BRN0240VTBITB2TBIT82TBITB2220Vo0o0Factory Wlrlng (120 V)200V1UNEGAP(BLK)2 NEUTRAL (WH)TBITB2o0o0o0TBlTB2PermanentConnections(BLK)PWRSW(BLK) UNECAP(BLK)FUSE(BLKIPWRSW DaNOTMOVETHESEWIRES,THEYARECOMMONTaAllPRIMARYVOLTAGESTABLE11Prlmary Power Converslon Chart for100, 120-, 200-, 220-,and240-V, 50/60-HzOperation3SCREWSLtUPPER2SCREWSFIGURE5 -Top Cover Removal3SCREWSJUneFuse.314SerleslIneVOltag8NormalBlo100Vac10Al250V120Vac10Al250V200Vac5Al250V220Vac5Al250V240Vac5Al250VTABL
